Job Purpose

To drive and maintain Authority vehicles in order to facilitate the safe and timely mobility of officers, materials, and equipment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive allocated vehicles safely and efficiently

  • Report road traffic accidents promptly

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date logbooks

  • Conduct routine vehicle roadworthiness inspections

  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness, safety, and security at all times


Minimum Qualifications

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate with a credit in English

  • Valid SADC Driver’s Licence – Class B or higher

  • Experience driving both manual and automatic vehicles

Added Advantage:

  • Defensive driving certificate

  • Mechanical trade test certification


Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience as a Driver

  • Clean driving record


Skills and Attributes

  • Sober-minded and trustworthy

  • Honest and organised

  • Good communication skills

  • Pleasant interpersonal skills

  • Familiar with GPS devices and the Zambian road network

  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills

  • Willingness to work weekends and night shifts when required

  • Professional and polite disposition
